As the Careers Advisor, you will provide advice, support, and service to students to ensure that they are well prepared and 'work ready' for employment. In this role, you will also be responsible for developing meaningful relationships with new and existing employers and employment partners for permanent sustainable employment for graduating students and alumni. Some of the key accountabilities are:

- Actively promote the services of Employment Teams to all students - both via scheduled presentations, classroom visits and talks, induction presentations, Careers Magazine, Careers Expo’s and via one-on-one meetings with students
- Identify and promote current employment opportunities on the Careers website, on job boards and verbally during interviews with students - ensure that these are always up to date. In addition, ensure that communication with specific students is effective in making them aware of potential new employment opportunities sourced
- Identify and engage potential community groups, charities & casual employers, maximising your business development and networks, for which you will assume relationship development and management responsibilities
- Ensure that other Careers staff understand the recruitment needs of employers so they can improve student understanding and work readiness
- Facilitate a program including effective job searching, CV writing, Interview skills other suitable workshops and Incorporate ‘Work Ready’ strategies into your day-to-day dealings with students.

**About you**:
Ideally, you will have demonstrated success in a sales position, ideally within the recruitment industry, with experience and confidence in cold-calling and making sales pitches. Your experience in developing and sustaining productive relationships will be a key strength as you are without a doubt a compelling and effective communicator who uses these skills to quickly build rapport. In this role, you will also need to have:

- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and manage conflicting priorities well
- Previous experience working to attain targets and knowledge of how to do this successfully, proven success in achieving targets, including revenue targets
- Proven relationship development and management skills and the ability to achieve results through networks and innovative forms of media
- Current New Zealand Driver’s License.
