**About the Role**
The Technical Manager is a key member of the site management team and is responsible for providing leadership to our Technical/Compliance team to effectively implement and monitor all food safety and quality programs. The Technical Manager will work closely with operations and MPI to ensure compliance with company, customer, regulatory and overseas market access requirements.
This position is based at our Te Aroha site in the Waikato.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Facilitate customer audits from a technical aspect and co-ordinate actions required to achieve an acceptable outcome.
- Manage the implementation of food safety programmes and HACCP systems.
- Identify issues that may affect compliance with food safety programmes and HACCP systems and work with relevant members of the site team and MPI to resolve them.
- Lead, mentor and build capacity of the Technical/Compliance Team consisting of auditors and quality assurance inspectors.
- Play a key role in implementing and promoting quality and continuous improvement initiatives, which can include helping with trials and investigations.
**About You**
- Previously held a technical senior leadership role and able to demonstrate key people skills
- Internal auditing qualification and/or experience desirable but not essential
- Previous experience within the food industry is desirable but not essential
- Capacity to analyse and interpret data, draw conclusions, and present information in a clear and concise manner
- Successful experience with influencing others and proactively driving a strong culture that aligns with the Silver Fern Farms values - Unstoppable Together, Improving Tomorrow and Always Caring
- Highly effective communicator with excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills
