**PURPOSE**:
We are looking for a Senior Systems Test Engineer to join our team, working on our new range of telecommunications products. In support of our evolving technology, we are adopting new development practices. We are looking for an experienced and passionate Senior Systems Test Engineer to help us on our Agile Scrum journey, delivering quality software on a frequent basis.
We are seeking someone who has excellent communication skills and a structured and disciplined approach to diagnosing problems. They should also be authentic, be able to work as a respectful team member and deliver value through excellence.
**KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS**:
- Liaison with other engineering team staff, as required.
- Liaison with product marketing, customer support staff, and Aviat Networks end customers, as required.
**SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
No supervisory responsibilities.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Analyze system testing needs, plan, design, create, execute and maintain system test solutions.
- Develop and maintain automated tests in our automation testing framework.
- Help the team identify priority issues, assist them to find the problem and deliver a solution.
- Contribute towards continuous improvement of testing practices.
- Liaise with other engineering team members (digital design, RF engineering, software and network management products).
- Work collaboratively within the team.
- Bring best practice test engineering to the team’s work.
- Other system testing activities, as required.
**OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Contribute towards improving the Aviat Networks system development process and procedures.
- Provide necessary system testing expertise on other projects, as required.
- Participate in project development reviews, as required.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE**:
- Diploma, B.Sc. or B.E. degree will normally be expected.
- Non-graduates may be considered, where a proven track record as an effective systems test engineer can be provided.
**TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES**:
**Essential**:
- Experience as a systems tester
- Strong Python programming skills
- Experience with test automation
- Experience in Agile Scrum, proven ability to contribute to teamwork
- Strong skills in diagnosing problems, trouble shooting and reporting relevant data
- Knowledge of good software development and testing practices
- Knowledge of networking protocols and experience with the associated test equipment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, outspoken
**Desirable**:
- Linux experience
- Source Control and Issue Tracking tools (GIT, JAMA, JIRA, etc.).
- Experience with test automation frameworks
- Understanding of digital electronics and wireless technologies.
- ISTQB and/or Cisco CCNA Certification
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle
- Use of protocol analyzers, oscilloscopes, Ethernet and Bit Error Rate testers and other test equipment
