**About the role (2 positions available)**

Are you keen for a challenge? Do you want to push your boundaries and try new experiences? This Christchurch based role offers a rare opportunity to combine practical, hands on work with funded study towards a nationally recognised qualification.
The technical stream of our development programme is typically four to five years (depending on your existing skills and experience) and will see you working in a range of interesting and diverse areas across our business including power quality, electrical projects, design, substations, SCADA, customer connections, cabling, lines, contract works, asset management, planning, protection and GIS mapping. We will also support you in part time study to achieve the New Zealand Diploma in Engineering (Electrical) through ARA.

On completion of the programme you will have gained the knowledge and experience needed to build a successful career here at Orion, and within the electricity industry.

About you*
We are looking for a self motivated team player with integrity and resilience who is up to the challenge of continuous learning and who understands the critical importance of safety and meeting the needs of customers at all times.
To gain a place on the programme, you will hold a minimum NZQA level 4 or equivalent qualification in the electrical industry and NCEA Level 2 Maths. In addition you will hold a current electrical registration and, at least five years of work experience post qualification.
