We are seeking a fixed-term Technical Trainee who will be fully immersed in the dynamic environment of Orion, gaining hands-on experience and insight into our industry-leading operations.

The role

  • You must be planning to or currently be studying towards obtaining a Level 6 NZ Diploma of Engineering (Electrical) or higher
  • This is an earn and learn opportunity, we will pay you full-time, while you spend 20 hours a week on-site gaining experience with us, and 20 hours a week studying with course fees paid in full by Orion
  • You will learn to build strong relationships with customers, colleagues and stakeholders
  • You will gain wider exposure across other commercial areas including Finance, Quality, H&S and Environmental

About you

  • Have a curious, innovative and explorative approach
  • Be committed to learning and growing your knowledge for a career in the Electricity Distribution industry
  • Self-motivated, driven and results focused
  • Previously, or currently, working in an electrical field and hold an EWRB license or equivalent
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and communication skills
  • A desire to continuously improve how we do things
  • A great sense of humour and a positive attitude
