We are seeking qualified applicants for a permanent Full-time Social Work position based within the Child Development Service. CDS is looking to appoint an experienced social worker to provide comprehensive and effective social work assessment and intervention for patients and their families and whanau to promote and support the best possible health outcomes, interdependence, autonomy and dignity of life. To support families effectively the SW will require a level of clinical knowledge of health and disability sufficient to undertake profession specific work within the CDS multidisciplinary team, including networks and available community supports in the region. This role will include a focus of working with children and families where a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) has been made. The role will assist the CDS team to provide ASD service coordination to children and young people up to the age of 19 years across the Wellington region for those who meet the inclusion criteria for the ASD Coordination Service Specifications.

The Child Development Service is a multi-disciplinary team providing specialist assessment and intervention for children with (or at risk of) an intellectual, sensory or physical disability, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. We use a holistic approach to enable children with disabilities to reach their maximum potential within their families and extended environment.
The applicant would need to be available to work on all Child Development sites across the region (Wellington to Kapiti) but currently the role is based at Te Wao Nui, Wellington.
Team work is an essential part of the role, working collaboratively with medical and allied health professionals.
