- This is a permanent part-time role (0.5 FTE / 18.75 hours a week) based at our Auckland CBD campus._

Join us as a Hauora Māori Kaiako and play a pivotal role in empowering the next generation of healthcare professionals. In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of delivering a transformative learning experience for students/ākonga in the Diploma in Enrolled Nursing (He Tohu Pōkairua Nēhi) Programme (Level 5).

As part of our dedicated team, you'll weave the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Kawa Whakaruruhau, cultural safety, and health equity into every aspect of your teaching. You will inspire students/ ākonga to embrace Hauora Māori models of health—such as the Hui Process, Meihana Model, and strength-based approaches—helping them develop the skills and cultural intelligence to provide exceptional care.

This role isn’t just about teaching; it’s about fostering an inclusive, culturally affirming environment where Māori and Pacific students/ākonga thrive. Through innovative teaching methods, hands-on learning experiences like marae-based education, and a deep commitment to Māori health and well-being, you’ll be helping shape healthcare professionals who will make a meaningful difference in Māori and Pacific communities.

**What You’ll Do**:

- Deliver inspiring, ākonga-centered teaching that brings Hauora Māori and Pacific health models to life.
- Use innovative, dynamic teaching methods, including blended learning, case-based, and simulation-enhanced learning, to engage and challenge students/ākonga.
- Facilitate hands-on, experiential learning through wānanga and marae-based**education, where ākonga can immerse themselves in real-world learning.
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and timely feedback to foster akonga success, ensuring every ākonga reaches their full potential.
- Contribute to the continuous development of the Enrolled Nursing curriculum, ensuring it stays at the forefront of cultural competence and healthcare standards.
- Provide holistic support for Māori and Pacific ākonga, helping them thrive throughout their learning journey, both academically and personally.
- Actively engage with Māori and Pacific communities, stakeholders, and professional associations, ensuring the programme stays relevant and impactful, and driving health equity initiatives.

**Qualifications** Who You Are**:

- You are a passionate educator who has a deep understating of **Hauora Māori models, Te Tiriti o Waitangi**, and **health equity principles**, with a commitment to advancing Māori health.
- Ideally, you are a registered nurse or health professional, bringing clinical expertise and real-world experience to enrich student learning.
- Has a **strong knowledge of tikanga, te reo Māori,**and** culturally appropriate communication**, and are eager to share this knowledge with akonga and faculty.
- Passionate for empowering ākonga to become confident, culturally competent healthcare professionals who can make a real impact.
- Possesses outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, and thrives in collaborative environments, working with diverse stakeholders.
- Is adaptable, open to new ideas, and committed to ongoing professional development.
