This is a part-time (0.5 FTE) position designed to be undertaken alongside clinical advanced training (0.5 FTE), forming a combined full-time role over a one-year term.

**The role**

In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the Māori trainee experience within the College. You will advise on and support initiatives that promote equity, wellbeing, and success for Māori trainees, ensuring access to culturally safe environments and appropriate support mechanisms. Your lived experience and insights will help inform continuous improvement efforts and strategic priorities that reflect the aspirations of Māori trainees.

With the leadership and guidance of the Lead Fellow Māori Health and the Tumuaki/Head of Māori and Equity, the Māori Health Registrar will draw on the their experiences and Māori trainee journey to provide advice to the Hauora Māori team, and the Māori Health Committee to inform and support initiative to advance Hauora Māori \ Māori Health, cultural safety and health equity.

You’ll also collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure our work is responsive, effective, and aligned with the College’s strategic outcomes and the needs of Māori trainees and their communities.

Key responsibilities include:

- **Support and Mentorship for the trainee journey**:Contribute knowledge, lived experience and relational support to strengthen the trainee journey. This includes supporting culturally safe environments and participating in mentorship efforts for trainees.
- **Initiatives and Policy support**:Support the Hauora Māori team in progressing initiatives and policies that reflect the key priorities of the Indigenous Strategic Framework (ISF).
- **Relationship Building**:participate in College committees, working groups, and projects to build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- **Participation**:Engage with relevant College committees, working groups and projects, contributing to continuous improvement efforts that support a culturally safe and
- **Event Organisation**:Support the planning and delivery of key events for Māori members such as the annual Trainee Wānanga, the biennial Māori Health Hui, and other culturally significant gatherings.
- **Submissions and Reports**:Contribute to the preparation of submissions, briefing papers and reports to inform decision-making on Hauora Māori.
