The Planning & Development team is responsible for developing policies, plans and profiles to guide the development of our collections. We monitor collection data to ensure our collections are shaped according to the needs of our customers.
Our Senior Librarians assist with the monitoring and expenditure of the Auckland Libraries collections budget and contribute to the annual budget allocation process. They collaborate closely with external suppliers, including regular performance monitoring.
The team responds to staff and customer enquiries or complaints about our collections and selects material in response to customer requests.
The current vacancies have a strategic focus on our serials and community languages collections, so experience or knowledge in these areas would be beneficial. However, all Planning & Development team members are expected to develop generalist knowledge of all our print and digital collections.

We are seeking a relationship-focused individual who is innovative and flexible. Strong interpersonal, advocacy and communication skills are critical, as you will be working closely with external suppliers. You should have the ability to work with data to inform decision-making, and to monitor and evaluate collections using a wide range of tools.
**Ngā āhuatanga kei a mātou: What we offer**
Along with the benefits that come with being a part of Auckland's largest employer, you will also be part of Australasia's largest public libraries and can make an impact in one of New Zealand's fastest growing cities.
