About you - Ko koe tēnei
As our Procurement Team Leader you will be responsible for procurement activities throughout the source-to-contract lifecycle. You will provide team leadership direction and support to 1 - 4 Procurement team members. You will guide team members on a daily basis and ensure work is completed as necessary. You will be comfortable getting into the details of the day-to-day work of the team, while setting a good example and engaging the team to achieve goals.
The Procurement Team Leader is also responsible for creating, communicating and delivering the 'end to end' source-to-contract cycle, identifying and implementing improvement areas, and supporting procurement transformation and change management initiatives. You will assist with the implementation of innovative solutions to continually improve Massey's procurement, contract and supplier relationship management practices.
You will also support the Strategic Projects and Procurement Director to further plan, design and develop innovative and best practice procurement.

**Key accountabilities include the following**:

- Manage, mentor, and motivate team members in a manner that builds an effective and strong team committed to achieving organisational goals
- Allocate, prioritise, and manage work requests to team members and coordinate and supervise multiple projects based on experience and following established guidelines, especially when working with escalated deadlines or issues
- Contribute to achieving procurement and contract management objectives by serving as key contact in providing guidance to team members, internal stakeholders, and/or managers on process improvement issues
- Interact with key stakeholders in identifying business needs, building relationships and promoting the features and benefits of early procurement involvement
- Lead, develop and deliver procurement plans, tender documents, evaluations, recommendation reports, and other procurement documentation
- Monitors the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identifies and qualifies new suppliers in collaboration with other departments

**What you will bring**:

- Demonstrated experience working in and leading collaborative procurement projects and teams within a complex, multi-stakeholder operating environment
- Proven strengths in stakeholder management and a high degree of commercial acumen to drive better outcomes for both internal and external stakeholders
- Strong grasp of risk, legal and financial aspects of procurement and contracts, market engagement, strategic sourcing and outcome-based contract negotiations and supplier management
- Experience in embedding sustainability and Te Tiriti considerations into sourcing and supply chain strategies is desirable
