**He angitutanga | About the role**

We are looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join our newly created People & Culture Hub and provide expert HR advice and support to a diverse range of leaders. This role provides critical Human Resources advice and support to managers, team leaders, and supervisors across the Department.

This is a fixed term opportunity until July 2025.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- providing timely and efficient advice on HR policies, procedures, and best practices. Assist in resolving employment disputes and offer support for performance assessments
- building and maintaining strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including union representatives and public sector agencies
- managing HR tasks proactively, escalating issues when necessary and ensuring compliance with DOC's standards
- collaborating with Senior HR Advisors to update and develop role descriptions as needed.

We are keen to hear from you if you have the following skills and experience:

- A solid understanding of human resources, employment legislation, and best practices.
- Ability to analyse situations and provide practical solutions to HR challenges.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people.
- A tertiary qualification in HR, a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within teams and with external stakeholders.
- Understanding of the Maori-Crown relationship and ability to integrate te reo and tikanga Maori in daily work.

The salary range for this position is $79,656 - $100,639 with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.
