**Mō tēnei tūranga - About the role**

Te Ao Mārama is responsible for supporting Fire and Emergency to use information, evidence and insights in a proactive manner, helping the business understand their knowledge needs and providing access to information and insights to support these knowledge needs. We are a research, evaluation and library team, with a real focus on supporting the organisation to make evidence-based decisions.

**Ko tāu nā i tēnei tūranga - What you’ll bring to the role**

We are looking for an experienced evaluation professional to:

- partner with key stakeholders (internal and external) to provide expert advice on the national Research and Evaluation Strategy and research and evaluation priorities for Fire and Emergency; and identify important strategic questions that require research and evaluation.
- establish and maintain strong relationships with Executive Leadership Team (ELT), and other management teams, to ensure research and evaluation needs are met and outputs are visible and used.
- represent Fire and Emergency’s research and evaluation priorities, deliverables and work programme to senior stakeholders and external forums.
- ensure all research and evaluation that is undertaken recognises the importance and significance of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, upholding its key principles throughout each project.

This role requires a people-person with strong relationship management skills, someone who is passionate about research and evaluation, and is equally pragmatic to getting things done to obtain the best evidence possible in a timely way.
