We are looking for a passionate, thorough and collaborative Building Control Officer and can consider applicants from Level 1 through to Level 3.

**About the role**:
Working as part of our Building Consenting Unit, you will provide customer service excellence as you facilitate high quality consent outcomes for our customers. As a professional in the industry, you'll appreciate the variety and complexity of consenting we look after here. Your role will include:
**About you**:
To be successful in this role ideally you will:

- Be able to read and understand plans and specifications and attention to detail.
- Be either currently working towards, or already have, the Regulation 18 qualification recognised as being suitable for building officials (more information in the position description)
- Able to work to deadlines and see tasks through to completion
- Have demonstrated ability to collaborate with customers (internally and externally)
- Have passion for the building industry serving the community.
- Current competency would be an advantage

- Hours of work_ - 37.5 - 40 hours per week
- Location_ - This position is primarily based at Te Hononga, Christchurch City Council Civic Offices - 53 Hereford Street_

Salary
- Level 1: $71,529 - $79,477_
- Level 2: $78,464 - $87,122_
- Level 3: $93,200 - $103,556_
