**About the role**:
We are seeking Building Inspectors across multiple levels, as long as you have some exposure to commercial inspecting, we will be able to get you to where you want to go.

It's not just carrying out inspections, you will also be delivering professional advice and educating the industry on how and why we adhere to the Building Act. You will be responsible for:

- Complete timely, accurate and concise site reports and records of site inspections in a professional and consistent manner
- Verify that the construction project reflects the approved consent documents and details approval
- Providing advice and/or resolving building issues from a building inspection perspective, liaising with other sections of Council as appropriate.
- Resolving customer enquires and complaints
- Ensuring your knowledge of the Building Act, Regulations, and Code is up to date.

**What is required to be considered for this position?**
- At least 2 years of experience as a Building Inspector in a BCA
- At least 3 years' experience in the building industry, preferably in a wide variety of New Zealand building projects. This could be experience in design, draughting, plumbing, drainage, construction, construction supervision or any combination of above.
- Under National BCA Competency Assessment as being at least Com 1. We have roles for all levels of Building Inspectors.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to adjust and communicate effectively with diverse customer groups along with excellent interpersonal skills.
