**What will you be doing?**

This is an integral role to advancing business improvement initiatives, providing support to Operations at the Mt Maunganui facility (the company’s largest and most complex operation) regarding manufacturing process control, monitoring systems and performance management, including ISO 14001 and ISO 9001.

You will wear multiple hats - Chemical Engineer, Process Specialist, Laboratory Manager and Environmental Lead. This will include:

- Leadership of the Mt Maunganui operations laboratory team to ensure timely collection, collation and interpretation of control data and make improvements to testing methods. You will enable and empower your competent team of Chemists to add value.
- Working as a ‘Process Specialist’ to identify process improvement opportunities and resolve issues regarding the ability to meet product specifications.
- Development and deployment of cost-effective raw materials blends aligned to key specification parameters.
- With support from the National Environmental Manager and other members of the senior management team, be Mt Maunganui’s public face for environment related issues, and working closely with internal and external stakeholders such as the Council, local residents and iwi.

**What are we looking for?**

To meet the requirements above, you must be technically competent, an experienced Leader and exceptional communicator. Specifically, you will have:

- A tertiary qualification in Science or Engineering and a strong mathematical background.
- Industrial chemistry or chemical engineering experience and familiarity with fertilizer production, _or_ transferable skills and experience (chemical processing, mining or similar).
- Possess a solid grasp of cause-and-effect relationships as well as adept analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exhibit exceptional communication skills and are comfortable presenting in a public forum.
- Competent in Office suite.
