**About this role**
Do you find purpose in creating a sustainable future? As the Sustainability Leader, you will use your client network and technical leadership to grow a team and deliver projects in our Auckland office. Every day you will have the opportunity to push boundaries and create new possibilities and lead projects with positive impact for our transport, cities and water clients and their communities. With access to our regional Environmental Sustainability Group you will collaborate with and learn from likeminded sustainability experts.

**What will I do?**
- Play a key role in developing, communicating and gaining commitment to climate & sustainability, transport, cities and energy plans to realise Arup’s strategic aspirations and grow our New Zealand market share in sustainability services.
- Oversee the strategic sustainability services on major multi-disciplinary projects, including negotiating major contracts, operating and financial performance, marketing and bid opportunities.
- Identify new opportunities to improve quality project work and project delivery within the local market.
- Develop high level strategic relationships with clients, industry peer groups, regulators, and the public in New Zealand, as well strong internal strategic relationships across the wider Arup business.
- Take responsibility for building a diverse local sustainability team and overseeing their learning and development, and performance.

**What will I bring?**
- Recognized relevant tertiary qualifications in sustainability or similar area, coupled with relevant industry experience in climate, sustainability, environment and/or social value within a consulting business environment.
- Proven working knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice and guidelines
- Experience developing business strategy in sustainable services and managing financial operating plans.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver large multidisciplinary projects and build a strong market presence which can convert into commercial opportunities.
- A commitment to enabling positive, respectful, and inclusive team environments
