AECOM’s Advisory teams successfully integrate our experience across Water & Infrastructure, Project & Programme Management, ESG (Environment, Sustainability & Governance), Economics, Strategic Asset Management, and Digital consulting to provide advice that covers the full spectrum of considerations over the entire infrastructure lifecycle.

If you are passionate about three waters and want to contribute to challenging and interesting projects that provide direct value to our communities, this role will be of interest.

This is a great opportunity to utilise your leadership skills, supporting professional and technical staff on complex advisory projects to deliver high standard outcomes for AECOM clients.

Day to day tasks will include

+ Be front and centre as a strategic advisor to clients for the coming changes to the New Zealand water sector

+ Working with our water modelling and water design teams to inform integrated water management strategies and plans, business cases, feasibility studies and optioneering

+ Working with our Planners to provide legislative and regulatory advice to clients

+ Working in partnership with our Strategic Asset Management team to deliver solutions across the full asset-lifecycle

+ Involvement in regular client liaison, business development and winning work.

+ Working closely with our leaders to grow the ANZ water advisory business

+ Mentoring and encouraging career development of team members

Minimum Requirements

+ You are positive, and see challenges as opportunities to innovate, collaborate and grow. You will have strong communication skills, and technical skills based on your specialist knowledge.

+ You enjoy developing and nurturing relationships within AECOM and across the water sector, whether through advisory projects, client initiatives or industry associations.

+ You enjoy working in teams and are self-motivated in seeking opportunities to grow the advisory business, through excellence in project delivery, building relationships and driving innovation.

+ You enjoy being accountable for your work and being influential in a project’s performance.

+ You will ideally be located near to our Auckland, Hamilton, or Christchurch offices.

Preferred Qualifications

This role will suit an experienced Water Advisor who can demonstrate

+ 10 to 15+ years’ relevant experience preferably in a consulting environment in three waters

+ Experience in strategic planning, advisory services, business cases, economics, project management or asset management

+ A degree in a relevant discipline

+ Demonstrated capability in problem solving and analysis

+ Excellent report writing and verbal communication skills

+ Well-developed planning and organisational skills
