The Wayward Pigeon is looking for a Junior Chef to join their team

We are a Bar/Restaurant located in Hamilton in a growing local area, offering a wide
range of services to the community around us. We run charity quizzes, wedding
receptions and many other functions in the dedicated function room, as well as showing
all the big sporting events of course This state of the art “local pub” services the suburbs of Rototuna, Chartwell and Queenwood and has a great local community. The Wayward Pigeon features designated bar, restaurant and function areas as well as some really great outdoor spaces.

The primary purpose of a Junior Chef is to support the other members of your team. This is a developmental role with the aim to expand on your cookery skills, as well as management skills, so as to one day run the kitchen. Through supporting the other chefs in your team, you will absorb skills that will help you develop your culinary career. We are looking for someone who is ready to join a company with endless opportunities for growth.

What you’ll already have:

- Have experience working in a commercial kitchen, ideally in a similar role
- Basic culinary skills and a passion for taking them to the next level
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- The ability to follow instructions to a high standard
- Willingness to be hands-on during key service times - weekends and

evenings included
- The ability to follow and execute Food Safety plan and follow company

procedures
- A love of a collaborative work environment
