Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
The Governance Manager is a member of the Centre of CCHV Clinical Excellence Leadership Team (LT) and acts as part of a leadership collective, which has prime responsibility for supporting the Director Clinical Excellence and Group Manager Clinical Excellence, and of providing leadership in innovation, improvement and research and partner with patients/whanau/community and staff, to support culture change to one where quality and safety is everyone - s responsibility. In addition, each LT position has individual accountability for leading a range of functions to deliver agreed outcomes.
The Governance Manager is accountable for leading, managing and overseeing the governance supporting functions of the Centre of Clinical Excellence, which incorporates governance coordination, risk management, controlled documents, systems administration and Information Analytics. This key leadership role is responsible for coaching, developing and leading their team to ensure the successful delivery of these functions.
The Governance Manager reports to the Group Manager, Clinical Excellence and works collaboratively with the Improvement & Innovation, Simulation, Consumer Engagement, Research, and Quality & Patient Safety Managers as well as the professional clinical leads for the Centre of Clinical Excellence, to ensure all aspects of governance are monitored, evaluated, analysed and reported on.

Moū - About you

**To be successful in the role you will have**:

- A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience
- Comprehensive general knowledge of the Health Care environment, its strategic priorities, strengths and weaknesses
- Knowledge of New Zealand Health legislation
- Experience dealing with the complexities of a large diverse organisation
- Experience working with executive leadership and preparing Board-level papers
- Experience in improving and streamlining systems and processes
- Experience at middle management level in a large complex organisation
- Experience and knowledge in all aspects of governance
- High level of expertise in using data to inform decision-making
- Considerable experience in building, influencing, and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- High level of presentation skills, excellent oral/written communication and influencing skills
