**Occupational Therapist**
**Permanent, 0.8FTE (32 hours per week)**

**Integrated Stroke Unit and Rehabilitation Team**

**Allied Health Team 3, North Shore Hospital**

We are looking for a skilled Occupational Therapist who is passionate about working with older adults and stroke patients, and providing patient centred and goal focused rehabilitation. This role involves working primarily on the Integrated Stroke Unit with adults of all ages, you will also work as part of the older adult assessment, treatment and rehabilitation (AT&R) team. You will provide best practice intervention and rehabilitation to patients with a range of neurological (primarily stroke), orthopaedic and general medical conditions.

We are looking for someone who has a broad range of experience working in the inpatient setting and a passion for rehabilitation. You will have experience in assessing how neurological and orthopaedic impairments impact occupational performance and it is preferable (not essential) that you have experience assessing for and providing wheelchair and seating solutions. As an OT working in the Stroke and Rehabilitation team at North Shore Hospital you will have the opportunity to link closely with the inpatient OT teams as well as our community based early discharge and rehabilitation service (EDARS).

You must be a New Zealand registered Occupational Therapist and possess at least 2 years post graduate experience, including experience working in the hospital setting. This position is not suitable for a new graduate. You must be able to demonstrate strong clinical skills, strength in organisation and communication, and ideally have some experience in and be motivated and passionate about quality improvement. Demonstrating commitment to working as part of a cohesive Occupational Therapy and interdisciplinary team is essential. You will also have experience in supporting junior staff and students.

How the hours fit across the week is negotiable however early starts (7.30am or 8am) are preferred to meet the needs of patients on the rehabilitation wards.
