A day in the life of the Business Development team involves directly winning work by advising on pursuits and bids, influencing our client leaders to build better client relationships, setting priorities based on market trends, writing marketing and award content - and everything in between

Each person in our Business Development team is aligned with a business group or geographic region, while remaining part of the wider Clients & Markets team for support and development. We physically sit with our group/region stakeholders but have frequent connections with our team to share insights and tackle business initiatives.

We have multiple opportunities located in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.

Beca’s Business Development team provides leadership, advice, and support to the technical and market-facing leaders of our organisation to improve our client relationships and win work. This is your opportunity to contribute to business development initiatives across New Zealand, support activities that increase sales, build market profile, and strengthen client relationships. The Business Development team sits within a Clients & Markets team of almost 60 people is based throughout New Zealand and Australia that includes marketing, communications, and design professionals.

**The Opportunity - Te Kāinga Rua**

In this time of reform across Aotearoa New Zealand, you’ll be supporting our Market Leaders as they leverage opportunities in this evolving landscape, influencing our business and the industry. The Business Development Advisor will engage closely across the group, bringing commercial vision and new ideas, contributing to must-win pursuits, proposals and other initiatives to grow Beca’s market profile. Sharing knowledge to elevate capability internally, you’ll also be a conduit of information and insight between clients and the business, collaborating with team members throughout New Zealand, Australia and beyond.

**About You - Te Rongoāto**

We are looking for both junior and intermediate business development professionals. You’ll be excited by the opportunity to add strategic value across multiple geographies. Bringing your business development lens, including experience from construction and/or professional services sectors. Understanding and advocating BD best practice, you’re a champion of the client perspective. Establishing rapport and credibility comes easily to you - you enjoy presenting and facilitating, establishing partnering relationships through your commercial credibility. You’ll be experienced in preparing, writing and reviewing technical information and your proactive attitude brings people together towards shared goals and mutual success. You will have 2-5 years of experience in various aspects of business development in bid writing/coordination, client relationship building, business strategy, and marketing or bid leadership.
