**THE OPPORTUNITY**:
We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Freshwater Field Ecologist to join our passionate team in Wellington. If you are a motivated, freshwater-trained and educated individual, looking to contribute to meaningful ecological work, we want to hear from you.
**WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR**:
We seek a talented individual with a background in freshwater ecology, who is eager to contribute to a variety of ecological projects. We value integrity, flexibility and a willingness to learn.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Conduct ecological surveys and assessments of freshwater systems.
- Contribute to the management and restoration of natural areas.
- Work on projects involving ecological effects assessments and develop mitigation solutions.
- Collaborate with team members to deliver high-quality outputs for our clients.
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members to build productive relationships.
**REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS**:
- At least a Graduate education in ecology or a related field (with a strong focus on freshwater).
- Relevant experience in freshwater ecological survey work.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well both independently and within a team.
- Precision in data collection, analysis and reporting.
- A passion for growing your experience and knowledge within the field of freshwater ecology.
- A valid New Zealand driver’s license (4WD experience is advantageous but not essential).
