Contract Manager for Waste

We are seeking an experienced Contract Manager to manage Council's Solid Waste Service contract and assist with delivering the solid waste operations.

**About the role**

This is a permanent full-time role based in Thames, and reports to the Solid Waste Manager.

The role sits in our Infrastructure Team and is responsible for contract management and administration, stakeholder engagement, managing budgets and costs, addressing operational matters, conducting safety audits, data and activity reporting as well as monitoring and implementing Council's Waste Minimisation Plan.

You will work closely with our Solid Waste contractor who provide kerbside collections and manage Council's seven Refuse & Recycling Transfer Stations (RTS) across the peninsula. You will also work with other key suppliers who assist with repair and maintenance of Council's assets.

**About you**

In addition to time management skills, the successful applicant will have the ability to communicate well and preferably have the following attributes
- Proven ability to develop strong, collaborative working relationships.
- Proactive and solutions oriented
- Compliance and improvement focused
- Passionate about providing a high level of service to the community.
- Experience in contract management and ideally an understanding of NZS3917/3910
- Experience and knowledge of the waste industry
- A qualification in Engineering or demonstrated experience in a technical role.
