We're seeking a dynamic Property and Facilities Manager to manage Council's property portfolio including buildings, equipment, furniture, and the entire fleet of vehicles.

**About the Role**

This role manages Council-owned property, which includes buildings, equipment, vehicles, furniture, and office facilities and is also responsible for property asset management including disposal and acquisition.

The Property and Facilities Manager responsibilities include:

- Reviewing, maintaining and optimising a detailed property portfolio on all of Council's properties
- Developing and implementing Council's property and fleet strategies
- Implementing a facilities maintenance programme including preventative maintenance
- Project management of refurbishments, upgrades and renewals
- Tendering for new facility service contracts
- Managing all contracts in relation to property and facility management
- Managing contractor, vendor and lessor/lessee relationships
- Setting operational and capital budgets and managing building costs across departments
- Managing a small team
- Ownership of property asset management plans
- Management of leases of all council property
- Writing reports and providing policy, legislative and professional advice to decision-makers
- Provide an excellent working environment for both staff and customers

**About You**

We are looking for a self-motivated team player who is enthusiastic and passionate about providing an efficient, customer driven service to Council and its staff.

You will bring in your leadership capabilities to lead, motivate and engage team members and build their capability to achieve individual and overall objectives.

To be successful you will have:

- At least 5 years' experience, a tertiary qualification or trade experience in property management or similar role
- A willingness to take a hands-on approach to achieve successful outcomes
- Demonstrated asset management skills
- Strong relationship and project management skills
- Proven leadership ability and line management skills
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills
