The veterinary team of 10+ zoo professionals work collaboratively to deliver positive Conservation Medicine outcomes for the zoo and for external stakeholders.- You will positively contribute to the zoo’s mission in the following core areas of responsibility:- Administration of the veterinary records databases, ensuring they are kept up-to-date, accurate and easily accessible to all users. This is an essential part of providing a high level of veterinary care to patients.
- Administration of stored veterinary samples and management of the associated databases. This is a vital contribution to the preventative medicine and evidence-based medicine that the department provides to both internal and external clients
- General veterinary administrative duties which include (but are not exclusive to) the maintenance of department inventories, compilation of reports, briefing documents, meeting minutes, and other identified priority support activities.-
- This role involves working a minimum of 16-hours per week, typically two consecutive days in a normal working week (Monday-Friday). It is not anticipated that this position would work weekends or public holidays.- Click this link to access the Position Description- ** He kōrero mōu: About you**- As a valued member of the Veterinary Services Department you will work closely with the other members of the veterinary team and the rest of the Animal Care & Conservation department to deliver excellent levels of patient care.- You will be dedicated, empathetic, resilient and remain solution-focused. ** Core Requirements**-
- Eligible to work in New Zealand
- Exceptional attention to detail, with strong time-management and personal organisation
- Flexibility and adaptability when working with variable daily work requirements
- Ability to work effectively within a team and also to work independently when required
- Logical and solution-focused approach.
- Interest or experience with zoo, veterinary and/or other medical fields is desirable but not essential
- Familiarity with Z.I.M.S. cloud-based database, or other medical databases is an advantage
