My Food Bag has an exciting opportunity for a Category Specialist to join our high-performing Procurement Team Spend the year building your skills and experience for a well-known NZ business.

This is a permanent, full-time role and we offer a minimum guaranteed 40 hours per week of work. We offer competitive remuneration based on experience.

**Responsibilities will include**:

- Manage assigned suppliers to a specific delivery window, ensuring they deliver to the appropriate distribution centre without delaying the pick-and-pack operation.
- Continuous communication with critical and strategic suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Ordering within Budget and having back-up plans when necessary.
- Perform category management including incident reactive buying, supplier relationship management, and performance and risk management.
- Establish, maintain and build relationships with assigned suppliers.
- Develop and maintain expert knowledge of respective supply markets, competitors and product innovations.
- Provide issue resolution for supplier service and quality issues.
- Help build competition and backup supply options for high-spend ingredients.
- Address supplier issues to ensure the highest level of service.
- Develop best procurement practices to best manage assigned suppliers.

**About you**:

- Prior purchasing or category experience in a similar role is strongly preferred
- Sound Microsoft Excel knowledge
- Experience with Power BI - running & updating reports
- Experience or knowledge of M3/ Infor ERP systems
- Experience in FMCG or any other food-related company is strongly preferred
- Data analysis experience is an advantage
