**Contract**: Permanent, part-time, (0.9 FTE)

**About the Role**
As a Quality Advisor, you will support the review of adverse events, working with services to construct a report, determine findings, and develop recommendations to improve future patient care. This role will also work closely with the services to identify themes or trends where potential improvements can be made.
The Quality Team covers the District, and therefore Advisors are required to work across sites as necessary. The Quality and Patient Safety Team are currently based at Wellington Regional Hospital and spend one or two days a week at Hutt Valley Hospital. However following orientation this can be more flexible as long as there is visibility across both sites.
The full salary range for this position is $81,398 - $122,098 pro rata.
**About the Team/Service Location**
Quality Advisors report to the Quality Team Leader and sit within the Quality & Patient Safety Team which is part of the wider Centre of Clinical Excellence. The cornerstone of quality and patient safety is in the prevention of harm to patients. Our team places emphasis on:
- Creating robust processes and systems of care delivery that prevent, detect and correct errors
- Learning from harm when it does occur
- Building an open and supportive safety culture that involves all layers of the organisation
- Fostering relationships between managers and clinical staff
- Holding patients and whānau at the centre of everything we do

**About you**
Other skills and experience we are looking for:
- Demonstrated competency in computer skills using a range of Microsoft packages including Word and Excel
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to build rapport and relate well with people
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with both patients and staff in situations that require tact and diplomacy
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities, proactively managing conflicting demands on time
