Department of Corrections has numerous exciting opportunities for Case Managers to join our team at Otago Correction Facility in Milton.
Case Managers at Otago Corrections Facility provide specialist, end to end case management with prisoners including initial assessment, identification of prisoner needs, case planning and preparing prisoners for release.
Using a range of services and techniques, they work with external agencies and the prisoners' Whānau to support prisoners as they rehabilitate.
With a natural style to work collaboratively and strong relationship management skills you will be someone who recognises the importance of the work Ara Poutama does and as we enter into a new and exciting era with Hokai Rangi, bring new ways of thinking to what is already a complex, dynamic and fast paced environment.
About you | Mōu
- Knowledge and experience working with Māori and Pacific Peoples and their whanau and communities.
- Rehabilitation and reintegration related disciplines and practices.
- Effective relationship management and communication skills.
- The ability to motivate and support prisoners to make positive changes.
- Experience and knowledge in Māori Language and cultural protocols and processes within Māori Communities, and of Māori Community structures and dynamics.
- Full, clean NZ Drivers Licence.

Central to the role is the ability to exercise sound professional judgement to ensure that prisoner needs, and services are appropriately identified and aligned to prisoner need.
You must work with high integrity and will demonstrate the Departmental values within your work: Wairua, Whānau, Manaaki, Kaitiaki and Rangatira.
