**Join a market-leading and international software company**

You will be part of our Defence Services organisation and work between our Wellington CBD office and the customer site in Upper Hutt. You will join a small team of customer-focused technical experts within a global, market-leading organisation, working to implement our C2 software to support critical decision-making on the battlefield.

**Customer-facing engineering role**
As a Solution Engineer at Systematic, you will be a key player in delivering the SitaWare suite to the New Zealand Army and other defence customers in New Zealand.

You will be working closely with customers, rolling out a mission-critical system that creates value by simplifying decision-making within areas such as solution design, configuration, installation, technical support, technical training, interoperability, development and testing, maximising value for our customers.

Your main tasks will include:

- Designing, implementing and supporting technical solutions at customer sites while ensuring your deliveries are within the agreed scope and time-frame
- Conducting technical training for our customers - both in classroom environments and in workshop-like set-ups
- Supporting the training of administrators and end-users
- Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, subcontractors, consultants and colleagues at Systematic
- Being up to date on the status of Systematic products and support to ensure alignment of customer expectations and product roadmaps, maximising value for both our customers and our products
- Providing first and second-level customer support.

**Broad and diverse technical skills with customer-focused mindset**
To succeed in the role, you must have strong and diverse technical skills combined with some years of experience from a similar role, although notably we work in a niche area so transferrable skills will need to be considered. In-depth knowledge and an understanding of networking, software and hardware systems.

**We are looking for Solution Engineers with experience in one or more of the following areas**:

- Application System Support
- Infrastructure including:

- IP Networking (including LAN, RAN and WAN)
- Security
- Server and Operating Systems
- Cloud or Virtualisation
- Security
- Software / Script Development

Systematic employees are well trained and will be involved with modern, highly sensitive equipment and configurations and will be expected to perform hands on development, testing, integration and maintenance to support our customer environments.
- A technical degree
- A customer-focused mindset combined with good collaboration and communication skills
- A good understanding of MS Windows and Linux/UNIX technologies
- Experience with:

- Automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible or similar
- Software and system testing
- Java, JavaScript, Angular or similar
- Docker and Kubernetes or similar
- Radio networking
- Developing software for Windows and Android operating systems
- Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing with many different stakeholders and at all levels of the organisation
- Be able to work independently and proactively, in secure areas for extended periods at times, as part of both Systematic and combined vendor teams

**We work with security classified projects, so for these roles at Systematic, you need a NZ security clearance. We can help with this process for those born in NZ or a 5 Eyes country.**

Travel may be expected - approx.10 days a year of domestic travel and a visit to our Headquarters in Aarhus, Denmark as part of your onboarding.
