Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
The Ministry is undertaking a project to review its physical files to ensure that they are ready to be moved.
In this role you will join a collaborative and friendly team of professionals who are proactively working to grow the Ministry’s ability to access and make effective use of its information in all their forms, through quality advice, training and guidance, and the provision and maintenance of information and records management systems and processes.
**Some of the areas you would work on in this role include**:
- Using your knowledge and information management skills to support decision making in relation to physical files
- Appraising records against agreed retention and disposal authorities

The salary range for this role is between $70,784 to midpoint $78,649 total fixed remuneration, negotiable depending on skills and experience. The total remuneration is inclusive of our 3% KiwiSaver employer contribution.
**Please note**:
- This role must be undertaken on site at MFAT’s office in Wellington.
- A full driver’s licence is required.
- You will need to lift and move boxes of files.

We’d like to hear from you if you are an early career information management professional with a ‘can do’ attitude and a strong customer service focus.
- A tertiary qualification in information management, or similar
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and compliance obligations, including the Public Records Act, Privacy Act and Protective Security Requirements
- Strong knowledge of standard good practice information and records management practices, processes and mechanisms
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
Ideally you will also have a good understanding of tikanga (Māori customs and protocols), with the ability to weave te ao Māori (the Māori worldview) into your work. If you are just starting on this journey that’s OK too - as long as you have a willingness to learn and a desire to develop your cultural capability.
