New Zealand Blood Service is a dynamic organisation providing lifesaving blood, blood products and services to the New Zealand healthcare community. We are a complex technical manufacturing organisation that is clinically and demand driven, and safety and quality focused. With around 800 staff nationally, services are provided in multiple locations throughout New Zealand with the national office in Auckland. New Zealand Blood Service hits well above its size. People are our strength, and with teamwork at the core of our values the workforce is engaged, passionate and strives for excellence in everything we do which contributes to a strong sense of community and collaboration.
Through this work at the end of every day, you know that you've contributed in some way to making a difference in someone's life.
**About the role**
The Quality and Regulatory Affairs (QRA) Directorate is a core team within the organisation, supporting and advising across all quality and compliance functions. To achieve this, we also need to invest in how our people learn and perform in their work. With the appointment of a new QRA Senior Leadership Team and the exciting ambition of the organisation, this team is growing and is now recruiting for a Learning and Development Specialist.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic, learning-based environment to create and facilitate engaging and meaningful learning experiences that support our people to operate competently and confidently in a highly regulated and quality-focused environment. You will build strong partnerships across the organisation to help us drive performance needs.
To do this, you will design and develop solutions to meet a range of needs, including induction and skill-based learning opportunities for critical quality activities.
Working as part of the Quality and Regulatory Affairs (QRA) team and alongside the NZBS Learning and Development community, you will shape the future direction of learning, including designing pathways and experiences in the new learning management system and enhancing our learning through workflow tools and capabilities.
**About you**
You will also have experience supporting change with people development initiatives and implementing assessment tools to verify competency in a regulated workplace environment.
Strong written, visual and verbal communication skills are essential, with a high attention to detail and a quality focus to your work. Experience working within a quality management system or background in quality assurance is an advantage.
You can be based at the following NZBS sites - Auckland, Waikato, or Christchurch
