**Kōrero mō te tūranga ' About the role**

Capital, Coast and Hutt Valley District of Te Whatu Ora have over 80 individual buildings served by many different system types and age. Across these buildings are some complex plumbing & drainage services and systems especially related to clinical services like Theatres. This role will ensure that the District has fully operational and compliant mechanical systems that will ensure the continued delivery of key health outcomes. The role will be required to coordinate and manage a variety of both internal and external contractors related to the provision of mechanical system services across the entire area covered by the district.

The ideal person for this role is someone who is a self-starter and understands the complexity of the legal and regulatory framework associated with mechanical services and related systems. You must be able to balance the need to have a technical understanding of the role requirements but just as importantly the drive to manage and grow people within the team. Further, you must have a passion for the field of mechanical systems and a strong desire to assist in the delivery of health care services by playing your part in delivery of suitable, compliant and safe mechanical systems.

Generally, you will be a team player who can interrelate with other skilled professionals such as project managers, your peers who represent a diverse range of trades, and clinical teams. You must be suitably qualified with either a relevant trade, tertiary degree or considerable trade experience in this field. Above all you need to be a person who enjoys coming to work and making a difference.
