**New World Porirua currently seeks an experienced Checkout Supervisor to join our friendly and hardworking team. Customer service, cash handling and time management skills are a must.**

**The Person**:
You will have a great time management skills ensuring your shift runs smoothly, you will support team members offering help and solving problems as they arise. You will always ensure that customers are attended to in a timely manner. You will be friendly, welcoming and committed to customer service. You will be an honest, trustworthy and reliable team player.

**The Job**:
Your role as a supervisor is to proactively monitor and manage the day to day happenings of the department; you will ensure that team members are allocated to a checkout as customer flow changes ensuring that service levels remain high. You will deal with all enquiries and complaints as they arise, ensuring that customers are satisfied. You will ensure that pricing issues are dealt with quickly by liaising with departments as required and ensure that signage and promotions are up to date. General record keeping and housekeeping is required in this role, from processing returns to completing customer complaint forms, housekeeping includes daily and weekly cleaning of the checkouts, self service checkouts, Lotto and the customer service desk.

**The Requirements**:

- Previous checkout experience would be beneficial
- A Managers Certificate or Duty Manager experience would be beneficial
- You must be physically able to stand for long periods of time and be able to lift and maneuver shopping bags and trolleys as required
- You will be flexible with working days and hours
