**What you will be doing**

This position will be responsible for managing mechanical design outputs across FRAMECAD’s roll-forming manufacturing systems, ensuring high standards in functional design, innovation, prototyping, optimisation and product development.

You will play a critical leadership role in mentoring and guiding our team of design engineers, establishing clear design processes, working cross-functionally to drive continuous improvement, and ensuring delivery of high-quality mechanical designs that support manufacturing and customer needs. The role also provides technical input and oversight for in-service product support and collaboration with Customer Success and Operations teams.

**What we are looking for**

We are looking for a proven leader with a strong mechanical design background who can seamlessly manage people and projects while maintaining technical excellence. You’ll have the ability to oversee design documentation, ensure adherence to international standards, validate design integrity through FEA, and manage relationships with third-party suppliers related to the manufacture and supply of machine components and assemblies. A proactive and collaborative approach, along with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement, will be key to success in this role.

**Skills and Experience**:

- 8+ years of experience in mechanical design, with at least 2 years in a team leadership or management role, however your capability and attitude outweighs your time in role
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing engineering/design teams
- Strong interpersonal, communication and planning skills
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to establish and maintain design processes and standards for capital equipment and manufacturing systems
- Expertise in SOLIDWORKS (or similar 3D modelling tools)
- Proficiency in 2D AutoCAD
- Ability to lead cross-functional collaboration and drive project delivery
- Demonstrated success in fostering a high-performance team culture
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, high-growth environment with a hands-on, can-do attitude

**Nice to have**:
Experience in an International Business and working with multiple suppliers and customers
