**The Organization**

Victor Hydraulics is a Christchurch, New Zealand based global leader in the design and manufacture of steel, stainless steel and aluminum hydraulic cylinders. Victor is recognized as a leader in their field thanks to a culture of on-going innovation and improvement focused on the needs of their customers and internal teamwork. Victor has developed an international reputation for designing and manufacturing specialist hydraulic cylinders to a wide range of customers including global OEM's.

**The Role**

This is a broad project engineering role that will appeal to Engineers looking to take on a wider scope of responsibilities and grow their commercial awareness while retaining their core mechanical design skills.

Reporting to the Sales/Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the mechanical project engineering tasks. You will be involved in various Hydraulic Cylinder Projects from presales concept to design to manufacture to delivery to aftersales and support. Working with both domestic and international clients.

Key activities include:

- Project Management
- Mechanical Design - Design and implement new product designs via 3D CAD models and drawings consistent with customer expectations.
- Customer Support - Understand and capture the technical and commercial needs of external customers
- Account Management - Ensure relationships are maintained appropriate to the needs of Victor and our customers.
- Manufacturing Data Maintenance - Develop and maintain manufacturing data (BOMs (Bills of Materials), Production Sequences and Time Estimates, Work Instructions) in ERP system.
- Production Process Improvement - Provide engineering support to factory teams to develop improvements in production quality and efficiency.
- Quality System Maintenance - Provide support for the development and maintenance of quality systems to ensure compliance with mandated quality system standards.

**Skills and Experience**

You will be a highly organized, self-motivated and a reliable team member, who can manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Your skills and experience will include several the following:

- Qualification in Engineering (ideally Mechanical)
- Desire and ability to work closely with clients to determine their requirements and propose robust/quality solutions.
- Ability to think and see a product solution through its entire lifecycle, both technically and commercially.
- Ability to undertake and review mechanical designs, prepare project deliverables including scopes of work, specifications, Pricing, BOMs, execution plans, and schedules.
- Experienced in creating and managing project scopes, cost estimates and project schedules.
- Sound understanding of Safety Management Systems and Quality Management Systems.
