Downer is an industry leader in water, providing water services to a quarter of New Zealanders. We support our customers across the full asset lifecycle from the conceptual development of a project through design, construction, commissioning and whole-of-life support and optimisation.

We are looking for a driven, experienced Supervisor to focus on supervising our Planned Works in the Northland region - Whangarei & Kaipara.

This role will work collaboratively alongside our successful Operations and Maintenance contracts we already deliver in these areas and will play an important role in continuing to build and support our strong relationships with our clients, and the community.

**About the role**:
The primary purpose of the Planned Works Supervisor will be to providing the necessary direction and leadership to the crews to achieve the following outcomes:

- Promote, lead and support a Zero Harm Culture.
- Projects are delivered to client’s satisfaction, on time and within budget.
- Development of a strong and motivated team.

People management will be a core skill needed to be successful in this role, as well as being highly driven, organised, and self-motivated.

**Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills**

You will have proven supervisory experience, with a good understanding of the water industry. Ideally with Water Reticulation Level 4 - Supervisor qualification, or similar.
- Proven knowledge and experience of supervising water reticulation teams
- Driver’s license; Minimum Class 1 & 2 + RTW an advantage
- Traffic management training ideally
- Confined spaces and hazard awareness training
- Ability to communicate and work in a team
- Demonstrable problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Computer skills, being able to operate and input data into a mobile field device.
- Experience in dealing with the public
- Experience in pricing of works
- Self-motivated, energetic, proactive and results orientated.
- Strong scheduling background.
