**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

This newly created role will lead the workforce data, intelligence, analysis, and insights function for the National People Services directorate. The resulting data-led insights will provide the narrative that enables and drives critical workforce decision making and investment. The role leads a multidisciplinary team providing modelling, analysis, and evaluation work to support the workforce programmes of work, Health New Zealand's | Te Whatu Ora's strategic direction and goals, and to support Health NZ's partners and stakeholders in understanding the health workforce.

This is a national leadership role that will manage large work programmes, and the successful incumbent will need to have the ability to think, plan and act strategically. The Group Manager will need to be politically astute and connect credibly with a wide range of stakeholders and senior officials. Proactively engaging with key stakeholders to gather and provide insights that provide a sector wide view across the health sector.

You will be a respected expert in your field, with substantial experience leading the collection of robust data and analysis to provide insightful reporting to support workforce development programmes and budgets now and into the future. Your leadership style engages and motivates others to succeed and develop, and you proactively share experiences, knowledge, and ideas. As an innovative leader, you will develop strategies, work programmes and performance targets for the team to set them up for success.

Your advanced understanding of modern workforce research, evaluation and analytical disciplines, tools, and processes will be key, alongside your ability to consolidate complex information into meaningful stories and visual representations for senior stakeholders at a national level.
