Mō te tūnga | About the role
The International Service Group (ISG) is looking for a dynamic and professional member to join its team. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in a unique part of the organisation which manages NZ Police's contribution to international security and development operations.
**The purpose of International Services Group (ISG) is to**:
- Support NZ’s foreign policy objectives in both the Pacific region and beyond
- Further NZ’s law enforcement interests internationally, and
- Contribute to disaster and emergency response and security liaisons
As an International Strategy & Planning Advisor you will support the delivery of these objectives by providing efficient and effective advice on Police’s capacity-building programmes and international relations.
**Key Accountabilities**:
- Strategy & planning: Provide advice on the planning and implementation of strategies and activities in ISG’s three priority areas;
- Programme implementation and reporting: Contribute to the design, monitoring and reporting of activities under the three priority areas;
- International engagement: Support the planning and coordination of international delegations visiting NZ Police;
- Official correspondence: Prepare quality, well written official correspondence and briefings as required.

- Have knowledge of strategy & planning frameworks, including monitoring and evaluation frameworks
- Preferably have knowledge of capability development programmes and/or policing in an international context
Whakaritenga motuhake | Special requirements
- This role is based in the Wellington area. Some regional and international travel may be required to support the delivery of ISG Programmes.
- Applicants will be required to undergo Reference, Vetting and Drug & Alcohol testing before an offer of employment is made.
- The position holder must hold or be able to obtain a ‘Top Secret’ security clearance.
This role is set at Individual Contributor level, this means your key purpose is “to deliver or enable others to deliver Our Business”.

Utu ā-tau | Salary
This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $87,306 and $100,796 dependent on skills and experience relevant
