Te Rōpū Ākonga o Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha | University of Canterbury Students’ Association (UCSA)
**Who We Are**
UCSA is the University of Canterbury Students’ Association Incorporated. Established in 1894, the UCSA is a not-for-profit organisation with charity status. Fourteen elected student representatives govern the UCSA with the support and guidance of external advisors via an Advisory Board. At times, the UCSA employs around 300 full time, part time and casual staff who report through to the Manahautū | Chief Executive. We offer the diversity to reflect the many services that students have initiated to ensure that the university experience for students at Te Whare o Wānanga o Waitaha | University of Canterbury is all that it can be.
**The Role**
Reporting to the Engagement Manager, the Kairuruku Akoranga | Academic Co-ordinator is responsible for ensuring the student voice is well heard and valued. You will collaborate with the elected Student Executive to provide advice and support to elected student representatives to strengthen their effectiveness in relation to academic matters.
**Who You Are**
You will have at least 2-4 years’ experience in the tertiary sector, ideally with an academic focus and strong administration and communication skills. A strong affinity with students and an understanding of academic systems is required. Experience with relevant computer programmes such as Excel, Microsoft Project, Word, Outlook. Knowledge of interpreting and assisting in the preparation of reporting with excellent attention to detail and initiative in identifying gaps and opportunities for development.
You will be positive and professional, have well-developed organisational, delegation and intrapersonal skills and have the ability to communicate and interact with others in an inclusive and culturally appropriate way.
**Qualification/Licences**
You will have a minimum tertiary education to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant field (e.g. advocacy, mediation, welfare) and a current and full drivers’ licence.
This is a permanent part-time position of 25 hours per week over 42 weeks each year.
