Advisory is an exciting and challenging environment, which enables our global specialist knowledge to offer management consulting, risk consulting, and transactions and restructuring services to our clients. Assignments are often managed on a multi-disciplinary basis utilising the skills and experience of advisors from more than one team or service area.
**The Opportunity**:
- Due to significant demand for our services we are looking for a Manager to support this exciting period of growth for our team. In addition to bringing your own experience and insight, you will have the opportunity to broaden your expertise and profile through a range of interesting projects and with a wide set of clients across the financial sector.
- We are looking for someone with in-depth experience in governance, regulation and conduct issues within financial services. You will also be involved with the design of conduct and compliance frameworks, managing remediation activities and response to requirements of key regulatory bodies.
- You will also lead engagements and proposals, develop the capabilities of individuals in your team, and lead your team to deliver high quality client outcomes.
**Day to day you will**:
- Lead project and engagement teams, advising financial services clients on:
- The impact of evolving regulation on their business models, clients, propositions, brands and markets and supporting them on their journey through that change;
- Practical, proportionate, best practice approaches to risk and compliance management and mitigation;
- Risk and compliance oversight, systems and controls, reporting management information, risk management frameworks, policies and procedures and the embedding of risk culture throughout the product lifecycle and from the board through to the business.
- Lead client projects and manage day to day client relationships including; structuring engagements and work plans, client engagement, overseeing junior team members and taking responsibility for project team leadership and direction, budget management and deliverables
- Play a key role in the development of business for the team, including; identifying opportunities and pursuing them, developing thought leadership, leading client proposals and developing team capabilities
- Build the reputation of KPMG through the quality of your work, expertise and judgement as well as innovative approaches
**What you'll bring to the team**:
- Understanding of principles-based conduct or customer centric regulation
- Awareness of and ability to identify key conduct issues and hotspots in business processes
- Understanding of how to develop customer centric strategies
- Knowledge and experience of at least one core financial services industry; retail banking, insurance, financial advice/wealth
- Ability to translate broad principles into clear actions and expectations, processes and outputs for a business
- Oral and written communication is a key strength along with planning, project management, relationship building, networking and influencing skills
- You demonstrate commercial awareness and the ability to identify and seize opportunities to enhance revenue
- Attention to detail and an enquiring mind to get the facts and identify potential issues
- Positive and flexible attitude and an enthusiasm to embrace new challenges and growth opportunities to gain experience
- Flexibility to work across New Zealand (and internationally) where required
