**Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role**

We are seeking a full or part time, confident midwife to join the Community Midwifery Team providing antenatal, and postnatal care and working across a variety settings, including in the community, clinics, Birthing Suite, Antenatal and Postnatal.

The team works a roster in a variety of settings, and covers on-call overnight cover for postnatal telephone calls. There is potential to work across the teams in both Capital and Coast as well as Hutt Valley.

The Community Midwifery Team provides antenatal and postnatal midwifery care in various settings, including the home and hospital:
For primary women who cannot find community based LMCs

For secondary women requiring hospital midwifery services

For women under tertiary care in Capital Coast who have transferred from another region, are less than 6 weeks postnatal and have a baby in NICU

Our community midwifery team work alongside the pregnant people in our region as they transition through pregnancy into parenthood. Our supportive team help women, whānau and their wider support network to navigate through the pregnancy journey, embracing diversity and individualised care. We embrace the diversity that make up our community and aim to provide the best outcomes.

We aim to provide continuity within our caseload and encourage any areas of particular interest for our team members to pursue.

**Moū - About you**

Registration with the Midwifery Council of NZ as a Registered Midwife

Current practising certificate with no restrictions on practice

Is confident across the scope of midwifery practice

Previous community midwifery experience preferred but not essential

On confident level of QLP or working towards it

Sound computer skills

Full, clean drivers licence

Be able to work autonomously in the community setting, providing antenatal and postnatal care

Have the ability to build trusting relationships quickly with a very diverse community

Have a passion to provide individualised care that meets the needs of the person and their whānau
