**About the Role**:
We seek a skilled and motivated Financial Analyst to join our team. The purpose of the role is to provide robust financial analytics and insights into the group's financial performance. The role is needed to uphold modernized financial data management, analysis, and reporting.
Working closely with the Head of Strategy, this role will also collaborate with leaders in the business, shaping and delivering financial analytics for decision making. The role acts as a translator and communicator: providing insight into _the_ _what_, and _the_ _why_.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Champion transitioning the Finance team from manual to automated analytics
- Expert in data validation and preparation for enhanced data quality and accessibility
- Develop standardised reporting for business insight using data visualisation tools
- Work with the Business Insights Team to uplift and improve finance IT solutions
- Develop and manage automated monthly business performance reporting (i.e., Sales Flash)
- Work closely with Finance SMEs including Management Accountants and Financial Control
- Support the Strategy Planning process with analysis of market and industry data
- Identifying macro and micro economic trends that impact the sector
- Undertake product, service and operational cashflow analysis and forecasts
- Build discrete cashflow scenario models for undertakings of strategic significance
- Establish metrics and reports to enable, track, measure and report on business performance.
**About You**:
A quantitative problem solver at heart, you are a commercially astute financial professional with strong analytical capabilities and a strategic mindset. You consider yourself as the best of the best.
With a background in finance, economics or accounting your experience in financial modelling and business planning, has brought clarity to complex financial problems.
You're competent in building and analysing key financial reports (i.e., discount cashflow analysis, and three-way forecasts) and you're confident using data to drive performance and continually improve.
**Ideal Skills & Experience**:
- Bachelor of Commerce, specialising in Finance, Economics, or Accounting
- 7+ years of relevant analytical experience in: Private Equity, Investment Banking, Management Consulting or Corporate Finance.
- Strategic mindset with sound analytical, financial modelling and planning skills.
- Analytical skills, numeric reasoning, and problem-solving: core toolkit for driving insight and out-of-the-box thinking
- Commercial acumen: understanding of what drives strong business performance
- Critical and lateral thinking - ability to explore the counter-factual and contrarian views.
- Ability to build relationships across all levels of an organisation
If you have a experience supporting Logistics, Manufacturing or Agri-business - that is a bonus.
