The Kāpiti Coast is a wonderful place to work, live and play. Our vision at Kāpiti Coast District Council reflects the aspirations of our community and provides a strong direction as we navigate the coming years, with the challenges - and opportunities - that will bring for our district. Our role at Council is to represent our community, and to enable local decision-making to promote our social, economic, environmental and cultural wellbeing.
To support us in achieving these aspirations, we are seeking to appoint Te Kaihautū Hononga Iwi (Iwi Partnerships Manager) who will drive the Council’s approach to growing and evolving its partnership with iwi Māori. Reporting to and partnering with Te Kaiwhakahaere Hononga a Iwi (Group Manager Iwi Partnerships) this manager will lead a small team of focussed experts to ensure we have the right frameworks and resources in place to enable tāngata whenua to influence the decisions that shape our district. They’ll reflect tāngata whenua perspectives and aspirations back to us, and build authentic and enduring relationships between the Council, mana whenua and Māori. In this way we can ensure delivery of our communities’ strategic priorities while enhancing Māori participation with the Council.
For those seeking a senior leadership opportunity leading change in critical service functions, this role represents a compelling next career step.
