**About the Role**

Ingka Investments are a global investment business with forestry assets circa 260k ha in six countries including New Zealand. They prioritise responsible forest management of all their properties to protect the forest, environment, and biodiversity for many generations to come, taking a long-term approach that respects the law, sets a high standard, and remains transparent.

Ingka Investments are continuing their exciting growth phase in New Zealand and a newly created senior leadership role of Forestland Acquisition Manager is needed to continue their expansion. Current locations in Southland/Otago, Gisborne, Hawkes Bay, Taranaki and Bay of Plenty are the foundation of a well-planned and funded New Zealand operation which is part of an international portfolio.

Located in our Tauranga office and working closely with the Forestland Country Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring future asset allocation decisions to support the continued growth and success of our forestry assets in New Zealand.

In this fast paced and broad-based role, you will be working with our international teams and local experts to identify new opportunities across New Zealand; analyse the viability and return on investment; negotiate terms and manage the transaction to successful completion including Overseas Investment Office approval and other consents as required.

**Position**
Your primary focus will be:

- Driving and co-ordinating the end-to-end acquisition process, from opportunity identification to successful hand over to the operations team.
- Closely liaising with key stakeholders and internal teams to ensure rigour, transparency and optimal ROI.
- Developing and maintaining an effective acquisition pipeline to ensure financial targets for investment and performance are met.
- Utilising the Ingka Investment framework and process including established forestry modelling tools such as Tigermoth® to record and assess potential opportunities.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety policies and environmental procedures and standards.

**Skills and Experience**
You will have:

- Skills and experience in purchase negotiation and completion, including OIO requirements.
- More than 5 years of experience in operational and tactical forestry investment decision, making, including experience with forestland valuation, optimisation and investment analysis.
- Sound communication skills with proven stakeholder management experience.
- Confident user of Microsoft suite, and modelling software such as Tigermoth® (or other recognised forestry modelling tools) alongside proprietary modelling.
- Sound judgement and ability to use data, industry knowledge and common sense for effective decision making.
- University degree in Forestry, Business Administration, Economics, or equivalent work experience
