We are seeking a strategic and values-driven leader to join Wintec as our Executive Director - People, Capability and Wellbeing. This critical role provides oversight of the People, Capability and Wellbeing directorate, ensuring that our people strategies, systems and services enable an inclusive, high-performing, and future-ready organisation.
As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will contribute to shaping Wintec’s direction and culture, ensuring our kaimahi and leaders are well supported to thrive. You will bring strategic thought leadership, foster innovation, and champion equity and wellbeing, enabling our people to succeed and our communities to flourish.
The appointing salary for this role will be between $200,000 to 230,000 dependent on skills and experience.
**Key accountabilities include**:
- Providing strategic leadership of the People, Capability and Wellbeing directorate across People and Culture, Organisational Development and Equity, and Wellbeing and Safety.
- Driving people strategies that strengthen equity, inclusion, wellbeing and workforce capability across the organisation.
- Partnering with leaders and unions to build constructive relationships, resolve issues, and enable high performance.
- Ensuring operational excellence and compliance in employment relations, safety, and risk management.
- Contributing to Wintec’s executive leadership, influencing organisational strategy and decision-making.

You will be an experienced and collaborative senior leader who is passionate about building a people-first culture. You will bring both strategic capability and operational expertise, with the ability to navigate complexity and lead through change.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Extensive senior leadership experience in people, capability and wellbeing functions within a complex organisation.
- Strong strategic and change leadership capability, with proven success in influencing outcomes at executive and governance levels.
- An understanding of equity, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and cultural competency, with demonstrated ability to embed these in workplace practice.
- A values-led leadership style with exceptional relationship-building and communication skills, and an ability to work constructively with kaimahi, unions, external agencies and executive peers.
- Relevant postgraduate qualifications in HR or a related discipline (or equivalent expertise through significant leadership experience).
