Join Kiwibank’s mobile squad, a passionate team focused on our two native apps. We’re looking for an experienced Lead Engineer - Mobile (Android) to help take the apps and their platforms on their evolutionary journey, as we look to add a second mobile squad to support our rebuilding of our mobile banking experience.

Reporting into a Principal Engineer - Mobile, as Lead Engineer - Mobile (Android) you’ll be accountable for providing combined people & technical leadership whilst driving best practice standards across a team of mobile engineers, championing a focus on the end user experience and seamless mobile app development.

- Key skills and experience we're looking for:_
- Proven experience with mobile development, with a focus on Android app development.
- Capability to design and implement modularisation of the app architecture.
- Extensive experience in CI-CD practices drives and delivers via declarative deployment practices with automated quality and security built-in.
- Confidence with Kotlin, Java and ideally Swift, with experience working on both monolithic and modular/microservice driven architectures.
- Experience with GraphQL is highly desired.
- Experience with unit and component/integration testing as part of the day to day development, ideally utilizing TDD and BDD techniques. Performance testing experience is a bonus.
- Proven ability to manage, lead and mentor other developers in an Agile and/or DevOps environment.
- Effective verbal and written skills. Skilled at communicating complex information effectively to a range of different audiences. Effective presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to challenge persuade and influence.

**Bonus**
- Experience in banking or other regulated software environments.
- Experience in integrating and utilising analytics from monitoring tools to optimise and scale.
- Experience in installing design systems.
- Experience working within a regulated software environment.
