We're looking for an energetic and creative Sports Reporter/Producer for **Te Reo Tātaki** to report and present a full range of sports stories across all sporting codes.

**The opportunity - Te tūranga**

The focus of this role will be to generate fresh and original sports and news content for 1 NEWS 6pm programmes, other programmes and platforms including 1 NEWS Online and Breakfast.

In this role you will be responsible for:
Reporting and Presenting
- Deliver original reporter-produced packages/stories on time and to duration.
- Establish and maintain familiarity with the daily sports news and ongoing issues through press releases, media reports and industry contacts.
- Perform live in the studio or field, as required.
- Use contacts to generate unique ideas/angles and incorporate fresh treatments for storytelling.
- Clearly communicate story requirements to the crew and work collaboratively with them in the field including interviewing and talent coordinating.
- Be able to demonstrate sound judgement of legal or ethical issues and understanding of when to refer to your manager.

Producing
- Assist and contribute to sports news story generation, selection, and treatment
- Write teases and headlines and edit appropriate accompanying visuals to duration and on time
- Monitor international feeds, social media and live games and edit selected sports stories in the appropriate form, to duration and within deadlines
- Co-ordinate the assembly of vision, graphics, scripts, remotes, and other production elements for stories
- Assign, brief, dispatch and co-ordinate sports reporter
- Write accurate, balanced and fair introductions to stories
- Assist reporters, anchors and others structure and write stories, as required
- Edit copy for inaccuracies, poor writing, lack of balance and fairness and other fault

**What we're looking for - Tā mātou e kimi nei**

You'll need to display an extensive range of sporting contacts and have a proven track record of delivering original sports stories. As an energetic and creative sports reporter/producer, you will have a proven ability to perform 'live' on location and in the studio as well as producing content for our website.
