The role delivers up to date television news stories for the half hourly bulletins in The AM

Show, the 1130 Bulletin and other Newshub TV programmes, including Newshub’s digital,

and social media platforms as necessary

**Responsibilities**:

- Writing and producing television news stories for The AM Show News Bulletins
- Reporting on news stories for TV bulletins including but not limited to The AM
Show and Newshub Live at 11.30, Newshub Live at 4.30 & Prime News.
- Setting up and conducting video interviews with newsmakers
- Writing scripts for TV bulletins and creating digital copy/video as required
- Breaking news stories and generating original story ideas
- Maintaining an extensive contacts base
- Reporting live on The AM Show and other Newshub bulletins as and when required
- Delivering news packages for inclusion on The AM Show or other Newshub bulletins as and when required
- Deliver a confident and authoritative performance on-air
- Be responsible for providing social and digital content for The AM Show
- Filling in as The AM Show’s foreign producer as and when required
- Be adept at using newsroom systems and tools
- Be a clear communicator
- Adhere to BSA broadcasting code
- Uphold the company values and expected behaviours in all undertakings related to your employment
- The Employee shall ensure they are familiar with the Employer's policies and

- Carry out your work safely and without endangering or causing harm to yourself,fellow staff members, contractors, customers, visitors, or the general public
- The Company may, after fair and reasonable consultation, change your duties,from time to time, for commercial reasons but not so as to substantially change the nature of the position.
- Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

- A hard working team player who understand the importance of a team and contributing constantly at a high level
- A believer of individual drive with team success and shared acknowledgement
- Strong organisational skills
- Multi-skilled with a ‘can do’ attitude
- Extensive understanding of news and current affairs issues
- Strong broadcast voice
- A generator of original ideas with a strong editorial nouse with the ability to break stories
- At least one year of experience writing, producing and editing TV broadcast stories using news editing software
- Flexibility to work varied shifts and hours including early mornings, evenings and weekends
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and perform effectively under pressure;
- Close attention to detail
