We are now excited to get on board a Port Operations Officer to join our team in Auckland, New Zealand.

Reporting to the Port Operations Supervisor, this role is to monitor and report on all systems and processes relating to marine operational duties performed on behalf of Principals, identification and use of cost-effective services and industry best practice.

**Key responsibilities of the role will include**:
Oversee the T/SHIP process of all International and Import Coastal shipments inside the New Zealand Operations scope

Update journey legs for Transhipments based on schedule changes and adjust plans as required

Making and arrange bookings with our Third-Party Feeder partners, along with using the 3PF Module.

Monitor idles of T/SHIP’s at Transhipment Ports to avoid miss connections and avoidable storage being incurred

Communicate with Port of Loads for incorrect routing or info for bookings

Arrange Change of Destinations (COD) for T/SHIP units plus CEDO’s (Customs export delivery order) when required.

Answer questions from Port of Discharge or Port of Load (POD/POL) about T/SHIP delays

Liaise with Cargo Flow and manage T/SHIP capacity management

Check and follow up on storage invoices from Terminals or Third-Party Feeder partners.

Compile vessel daily schedules for internal use when required

Learn and understand other functions within the Operations team to be able to provide cover when others on leave

Provide assistance to the Port Operations Supervisor or National Operations & ILS Manager as and when required.

Understand and adhere to the principles of the Group’s Code of Ethics.

**To succeed in this role, you will need**:
Minimum 4 years in shipping operations/ sailing experience recommended.

Suitably qualified, preferably 2nd Mate FG ticket and NZMS graduate (diploma holder)

Good level of oral and written English language skills.

Ability to supervise and deploy resources to meet deadlines.

High level of knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and report writing.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships with various stakeholders.

Customer oriented approach.

Ability to work as part of a team and help when required.

Good time management skills.

Ability to work in a pressurized environment and prioritize tasks.

Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
