Our Academic Advisers assist students in successfully navigating their academic journey and achieving their future goals. We enjoy variety in the role. We also support future students, student support, and outreach activities such as orientation, programme events, open days, and information evenings.
The key components of the role are to provide effective advice and support to prospective and current students which include information on:
- Our qualifications, academic pathways, and career options
- Study planning, academic progression, and completion
- Pre-requisites and eligibility
- Programme and course choices and enrolment
- Changing programmes and majors/minors
- Other key student support services at Massey University
**About you - Ko koe tēnei Do you have**:
- a passion for, and experience in, supporting students' success through every stage of their learning journey
- an ability to interpret complex education and program infoamtion
- an ability to provide a prompt, efficient, and personalised services to our customers
- demonstrated experience in building and maintaining strong relationships with a professionals and academics
- a high level of communication and problem-solving skills
- a willingness to practice and develop the use of Te Reo and tikanga Māori
- a commitment to tangata whenuatanga and Te Tiriti o Waitangi partnership in Aotearoa
- a tertiary qualification is preferred but not essential However, relevant work experience and knowledge of the New Zealand tertiary education environment are essential.
